Went to a friend’s retirement party with ukulele music and Japanese and Hawaiian food. The brisk wind drove us away before we really wanted to leave.
Rented more movies; Milk was fantastic, Grand Torino pretty good, T2 holds up okay, He’s Not That In To You wasn’t horrible, and Hotel for Dogs was completely unwatchable. We suffered through 20 minutes of that crap before we turned it off
Cut back the prickly pear cactus to get it away from the fence and keep it from being so top heavy. I’m still pulling hair-like thorns out of my arms. Those bastards are annoying.
We’re going to continue to have good weather in the mid to upper 70’s all week, but it’s going to get in to the 90’s this weekend. We really need to call the shade people and get shades installed on the skylight.
I found at least four volunteer basil plants in the garden this weekend which isn’t too surprising. The real shock was finding a volunteer tomato plant by the compost bin. I don’t know what variety of tomato it is or if it is going to produce anything, but I’m going to let it grow.
Prickly pear champagne cocktails are great, especially when you picked the prickly pears yourself from your own plant.

Milk fantastic? Well, I’d say it was OK, FINE and everything but I don’t think that this story was a lot different than in most movies that are being released lately. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your weekend. cheers!
