I’m not absolutely sure how it got recorded but it did. While flipping through our DirecTV program guide we saw a show titled “Rotten Tomatoes” on channel 358. I knew that the website of the same name did movie reviews and since it’s summer and we don’t want to watch a boatload of reruns we hit the record button.
We went to watch our recording and instead of “Rotten Tomatoes” we got Supernews and I’m glad we did. It’s sort of a pop culture animated faux news show. The episode we saw lampooned corporate buzzwords, Britney, and the White House. The Star Trek parody was especially well done. It’s crude, irreverent, and very funny.
If we can find it again we’ll set up the DVR to record the season. We just won’t tell Current TV that we are doing it because we fall well outside their 18 to 34 demographic.
We did manage to catch “Rotten Tomatoes” on the same channel and it was really bad.
